English Information
Dear Athletes
The 16. hella hamburg half marathon once again promises to be a glamorous sports event for Hamburg. As one of the few purely German half marathons, the classical city course passes countless tourist attractions of Hamburg and is reputed to be the fastest among the major German summer half marathons. Accompanied by samba drums, the race will start at 10:00 a.m. on the four-lane Reeperbahn – the inline skaters start 15 minutes earlier. Our shuttle busses will bring you from the race packet pick-up area located in the event centre at the Rothenbaum Tennis Stadium (finish) to the start – or you can reach the start by metro (U3: St. Pauli). Your run will show you Hamburg from a new perspective: past the traditional fish market, along the harbour into HafenCity, Hamburg’s new district. Via the Wallring (main station), you will go down Aussenalster street up to Maria-Louisen Strasse and from there down Rothenbaumchaussee to the finish. As usual, Hamburg’s local TV, Hamburg 1, will be broadcasting live – with sausage, beer, hella and live music, together we will celebrate your successful race.
